The US Chargé d’Affaires in Albania, a.i. Leyla Moses-Ones, attended a meeting with MP Rudina Hajdari, former member of the Democratic Party, now with the newest opposition party, the Democratic Conviction.
“The discussion focused on the Electoral Reform and on how to keep supporting the Judiciary Reform, as part of Albania’s tasks on the path for EU accession negotiations. The Ambassador expressed its full support for the parliamentary opposition and for our activity in improving the political system”, Hajdari said.
Leyla Moses-Ones didn’t make any comment about the meeting, but when she was asked by Top Channel’s journalist, Muhamed Veliu, about the opposition’s protest that is expected tomorrow, she said that the US Embassy will publish a stance in the upcoming hours.
This is not the first time that Hajdari, one of the founders of the new opposition, meets with the US Embassy representatives.
The Embassy also met with the independent parliamentary group with MPs coming from the Socialist Movement for Integration.
